The Stations of the Cross
The prayer of the Church venerates and honors the Heart of Jesus just as it invokes his most holy name. It adores the incarnate Word and his Heart which, out of love for men, he allowed to be pierced by our sins. Christian prayer loves to follow the way of the cross in the Savior's steps. The stations from the Praetorium to Golgotha and the tomb trace the way of Jesus, who by his holy Cross has redeemed the world. CCC 2669
HOW TO GAIN A PLENARY INDULGENCE FOR MAKING THE STATIONS – FROM THE ENCHIRIDION. OF INDULGENCES, No. 26: To gain a plenary indulgence for making the Stations it is necessary to move from Station, to meditate on the sufferings of Our Lord (no specific prayers are required), and to have the intention of gaining the indulgence. (Indulgences can always be applied to the Souls in Purgatory.) Moreover, “To acquire a plenary indulgence, it is necessary to perform the work to which the indulgence is attached and to fulfil three conditions: Sacramental Confession, Eucharistic Communion and prayer for the intentions of the Supreme Pontiff (e.g., one ‘Our Father’ and one ‘Hail Mary’). It is further required that all attachment to sin, even to venial sin, be absent.”

Adora al Verbo encarnado y a su Corazón que, por amor a los hombres, se dejó traspasar por nuestros pecados. La oración cristiana practica el Via Crucis siguiendo al Salvador. Las estaciones desde el Pretorio al Gólgota y al Sepulco jalonan el recorrido de Jesús, que por su santa Cruz ha redimido el mundo. CCC 2669
COMO OBTENER UNA INDULGENCIA PLENARIA PARA HACER LAS ESTACIONES – DEL ENCHIRIDION. DE LAS INDULGENCIAS, n. 26: Para ganar una indulgencia plenaria por hacer las Estaciones es necesario moverse de Estación, meditar en los sufrimientos de Nuestro Señor (no se requieren oraciones específicas), y tener la intención de ganar la indulgencia. (Las indulgencias siempre se pueden aplicar a las Almas del Purgatorio.) Además, “Para adquirir una indulgencia plenaria, es necesario realizar la obra a la que se adjunta la indulgencia y cumplir tres condiciones: Confesión sacramental, Comunión Eucarística y oración por las intenciones del Sumo Pontífice (por ejemplo, un 'Padre Nuestro' y un 'Ave María'). Se requiere además que todo apego al pecado, incluso al pecado venial, esté ausente”.
