About Fr. Barnes
Greetings to you in Christ. My name is Father Patrick Barnes and I am looking forward to meeting you and to getting to know you. I was born and raised in Davenport, Iowa. I attended Catholic schools through high school and then attended the University of Northern Iowa and studied business management and public relations.
After college, I moved to the Twin Cities and worked in business for over three years, specifically in distribution of industrial and commercial pipe, valves, and fittings. I then entered the seminary here in Minnesota and I am a priest for this Archdiocese. In 2010 I was ordained a priest and my first parish assignment was Saint Charles Borromeo in Saint Anthony Village (near Northeast Minneapolis). This was followed by seven years at Saint Nicholas in New Market, which is about fifteen minutes south of Lakeville.
Some of the things I enjoy doing are playing sports, including the priest versus seminarian basketball game. It’s always fun to be out there with Father Tony! I also enjoy spending time with priest friends, traveling, being on a lake in the summer, and I enjoy golf, even watching golf. It’s also been a blessing to take walks through the neighborhood and greet and talk with parishioners and people from the neighborhood.
Please keep me in prayer and know of my prayers for you!
God bless,
Fr. Barnes
