OCIA

Order of Christian Initiation of Adults and Children (OCIA)

This process, known as the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults and Children, provides formation for those seeking membership in the Catholic Faith.  The adult process includes several weeks of inquiry during which an overview of the Catholic faith is presented. The next period is known as the Catechumenate, a time when candidates reflect on the Sunday Scripture readings.  As Lent and Easter approaches, there are other phases of the process.  Children and youth ages 7-14 participate in the faith formation program as well as sessions focused on the Sacraments of Initiation.  The OCIA seeks to nurture and celebrate the Catholic faith with all who long for a deeper relationship with Christ. Weekly formation sessions are held on Thursday evenings here at St. Henry Catholic Church from September until shortly after Easter, with occasional breaks for holidays.

Faithful parishioners are also needed in OCIA to assist in the role of a mentor and/or sponsor for Candidates and Catechumens.  This is a great opportunity to help you grow in your faith as you are helping others grow in their faith.
