Staff Member: Jenna Leighton
My name is Jenna Leighton and I am your Director of Youth Formation and Ministry here at the Church of St. Henry.
I grew up in the northwestern Suburbs of Minnesota in a Catholic, home-schooling family. I am and always have been extremely close to my family: my dad and mom, two older brothers (plus now sister-in-law, niece, and nephew), one younger sister, and one youngest brother. While I first learned of God’s love through my family, it was through my experience in youth ministry that I personally encountered Jesus and began living intentionally for Him. In the later years of high-school, the call to serve in ministry began to grow in my heart. I went to Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio and graduated in 2014 with a double major in Theology and Catechetics (with a concentration in Youth Ministry) and a minor in Philosophy. I then served for two years at the Church of St. Ignatius in Annandale before coming to St. Henry in 2016.
I love being a part of the parish community of the Church of Saint Henry and the “FYSHbowl family” (“FYSHbowl” stands for “For the Youth of Saint Henry” and is the name of our youth group). It is a joy to walk with teens as they encounter Jesus and make the decision to live intentionally for Him. I often say, “I have the coolest job ever!” (Seriously, I get to tell others about Jesus for work!)
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, playing with my niece and nephew, adventuring outdoors, running, play board games, reading, and sewing or doing crafts. My fiancé Ben and I are engaged to be married July 2021!
